The Alamosa Optimist Club
The Alamosa Optimist Club is a "friend of youth" and provides programs to support our youth-oriented endeavors. With over 20 years of local club history, we are proud to be serving the youth in Alamosa and the surrounding communities.
Programs and service projects that the Club is involved in include: The Avenue of Flags Project, Tri-Star Basketball Skills Challenge, SLV Relay Challenge, Youth Eyeglass Project, The Irlen Syndrome, Student of the Month, Essay and Oratory Contests, Christmas Project, Reading Project, Youth Swim Day, Boy Scouts Fundraising Project, and various donations to youth-oriented organizations.
Meeting the needs of young people in communities worldwide, Optimist Clubs have been "Bringing Out the Best in Kids" since 1919. Optimist Clubs conduct positive service projects aimed at providing a helping hand to youth. By believing in young people and empowering them to be the best they can, Optimist volunteers continually make this world a better place to live.
The Alamosa Optimist Club meets every 2nd, 3rd and 4th Tuesday of the month at noon at the Inn of the Rio Grande and invites anyone interested to join us. For more information, please contact Ramona at 580-3066 or e-mail alamosaoptimistclub@gmail.com.
