Position Title: Paid 6-month Internship
Note: If performance is satisfactory, a management position is available on completion of program
Responsibilities: Responsible for assisting team leader to complete tasks in an efficient manner, responsible for learning manufacturing processes
Job Duties: Meat cutting, Sausage Making, Curing Ham and Bacon, Operating Industrial Smoker, Livestock Slaughter and Dressing, USDA compliance (paperwork), Organizing coolers/freezer, Sanitation, Discarding Waste, Various Plant Improvement Activities
Job Skills and Qualifications: Impeccable timeliness and job attendance, Understanding concepts of efficiency, Ability to receive feedback, Hard working, Respectful
Not required, but desired qualifications: Meat science, Chef background, Livestock handling and slaughter
Compensation: Starting salary at $9-$13/hr. depending on skills and efficiency leading to $32,000/year salary with vacation, sick time, and bonus opportunity if program is completed successfully.
